Anzac Day at The Entrance

ANZAC DAY

2018 holds a special significance for Australia, New Zealand and the rest of the World as we look to mark 100 Years since our Nation's involvement in the First World War and to honor those impacted by the events that took place.

Troops at Villers-Bretonneux, France battled exactly 100 years before as part of wider effort to halt a German spring offensive which was threatening to win them the war.

Throughout early April in 1918, Australian units helped defend Villers-Bretonneux from this onslaught, but at dawn on the 24th the Germans attacked and captured the town.

Leading the British counter attack, the Australian 13th and 15th Brigades enveloped the town and successfully cleared it of Germans on the 25th of April, the third anniversary of the Anzac landings at Gallipoli.

Where: The Entrance Cenotaph, Memorial Park, The Entrance

Anzac Day March Pass:

When: 11.30am

Where: The march pass leaves from Campbell Street through the main street of The Entrance and finishes in Memorial Park

Anzac Day Memorial Service:

When: 12.00pm after the March Pass

Where: The Entrance Cenotaph, Memorial Park, The Entrance
